A little over six months since VTTV received its first vessel, the official Inauguration Ceremony of the terminal took place on 29 May 2015.

General Manager George Papanastasiou and VTTI CEO Rob Nijst were honoured to welcome the President of the Republic, Mr. Nicos Anastasiades, to conduct the ceremony.

He was joined by many other guests including ministers and members of the Cyprus Parliament, the Dutch Ambassador to Cyprus, and local officials and community representatives. His Holiness the Bishop Varnavas of Trimithounta opened the inauguration with a blessing.

With total investment of around €300m, the 544,000 m3 terminal stands as one of the most significant industrial projects ever to be built on Cyprus. As a major piece of infrastructure it will make a positive contribution to the Cypriot economy.

Meanwhile, at VTTI we continue to evaluate other investments as we look to consolidate and grow this exciting new energy hub in the Eastern Mediterranean.
