Field Engineer
Location:
The purpose of the Maintenance department is to achieve economic and/or technical optimal system availability, to improve the existing facilities and the co- investment projects, all within the limits of the applicable VTTI and government guidelines.
The Maintenance department is responsible for the technical management of all the equipment, buildings and civil objects of ETT. The department also performs maintenance related projects alongside the regular maintenance tasks.
Responsibilities
The Field Engineer is responsible for overseeing and directing the contractors for a safe and effective execution of the specified work. The Field Engineer reports to the Maintenance Manager and guides others in terms of work assignments. This includes the following subtasks:
- guiding the contractors to the workplace and ensuring the safe execution of the work by carrying out workplace inspection and ensuring that the proper permitting is present and the necesarry control measures are being taken.
- directing contractors in the field for the execution of the work and safegard the progress and the quality of the executed work.
- administering of the contractor’s work by checking the work that has been carried out and marking the work and the actual hours and materials of the contractor
- delivering of the system to the Operations department before the commissioning.
- responsible for compliance of the contractor with the work permitting proces and delivery of the permit according tot the procedure.
Requirements
- MTS+ (Mechanical or Electrical)
- 4+ years experience within a similar position and work environment
- Mastery of the Dutch and English language
- Problem solving ability, ability to work under pressure
- Flexible, hands-on, team player
