Project Engineer

Responsibilities:

Ensure the feasibility, preparation and project management (planning, execution and delivery) of technical projects (improvements, innovations), in line with Vitol’s policies, project scope, -time and -budget and in cooperation with operations management, in order to optimise the technical installations for current and future needs.

Requirements:

Key result areas:

1 Technical proposals: Initiate and prepare technical proposals for improvements / innovation of the technical installation, in cooperation with terminal management and operations staff, in order to have a clear understanding on technical issues and possible solutions.

2 Feasibility study: Develop and after approval ensure the execution of feasibility studies for the terminals, in line with internal guidelines and within the agreed scope, time and budget aimed at advice on investments for terminal optimisation.

3 Investment proposal: Contribute to the development and or review investment proposals for technical improvements of the installation, in line with Vitol policies and guidelines, in order to have reliable and achievable investment proposals.

4 Contractor- selection: Contribute to the selection and management of suppliers and contractors for (parts of) the project, in order to guarantee the required resources and support to achieve project results.

5 Due diligence: Assist in the due diligence and or technical assessments of installations in order to establish the technical state of current and or new installations.

6 Project management – plan and execution: Draft detailed technical plans and budgets and after approval executes and accordingly, in line with Vitol’s policies and guidelines as well as legal requirements and professional best practices, in order to contribute to the delivery of the agreed results in scope, time and budget.

7 HSE: Implement all necessary HSE aspects in projects and or new technical developments, according to Vitol’s HSE policies and guidelines and local legal requirements, in order to meet the required HSE performance.

8 Technical standards: Contribute to the development of Vitol Terminals standards for HSE and Technology, in order to have global alignment of best practices and a basis for efficient technological developments. Implement all necessary global technical standards in the assigned project.

9 Technical support: Provide on request technical know how, advice and support for the terminal(s) in order to optimise terminal performance.

The operator performs operational work relating to unloading and loading of sea-going vessels, barges, product pumping via pipelines, the storage and handling of products, the management of the tank farm and cleaning work so that, with due regard for the environmental and safety requirements / instructions, a fast and efficient service is provided both internally and externally.
