Position

The Public Affairs team designs and delivers the advocacy and public affairs strategies, supporting the development and delivery of decarbonization infrastructure for transitional and renewable energies.

The Public Affairs Advisor contributes to this development with public and government affairs activities, a.o. stakeholder management, influencing, strategy assessments; with a focus on the Netherlands and the EU. Monitor and analyze relevant development in legislation and policy on local, national and EU level

  • Identify and maintain a relevant stakeholder network
  • Ensure a solid understanding of relevant developments in legislation and policy within the company
  • Pro-actively identify risks and opportunities in the development of policy and legislation
  • Contribute to the development of VTTI public affairs strategy and related advocacy documents
  • Advise and propose plans to anticipate external developments in line with VTTI corporate and public affairs strategy
  • External representation of the company in e.g. meetings, events and engagement opportunities
  • Coordinate internal alignment on the execution of the public affairs strategy

Our ideal candidate

You are an experienced, driven and pro-active professional with a background in public affairs. You have a sound understanding of political processes and policy developments, also on an EU level. You can easily switch between different stakeholders, and you are at ease in a multinational corporate organization.

  • University degree in relevant field e.g. Political Science, Law, Science of Public Administration
  • Minimum of 5 years of Public Affairs working experience, preferably in the energy sector and/or politics
  • Strong analytical skills, strategic thinker
  • Fluent in English and Dutch
  • Networker and good communication capabilities
  • Results driven and hands-on mentality
