VBT - The Netherlands
The world is changing rapidly and so are we. VTTI is working towards a sustainable future with VTTI Bio-Energy Tilburg (VBT), our new state-of-the-art facility, that is currently being constructed. The facility is developed to process organic side streams, such as manure from the region and leftovers from the food and feed industry, and will produce about 23 million m3 of biogas per year. Part of this biogas will be upgraded to green gas for delivery to the Dutch gas grid, which equals the annual gas consumption of approximately 2,700 homes.
Another part of the biogas generated by VBT will be utilized to produce dry pelletized organic fertilisers, which are essential for regenerative farming and the re-use of valuable minerals. VBT will produce approximately 40.000 ton of valuable dry pelletized organic fertiliser per year. Strategically located in the feedstock area, VBT contributes to reducing transportation, as well as greenhouse gas emissions.
